Hybrid Ecologies is an interdisciplinary research-creation project that explores the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and the environmental costs of this technology.
This project is an invitation to overcome the dichotomy between nature and technology, showing how AI inhabits and creates a hybrid ecology, constituted by interdependent relationships between human and non-human agencies.
This collaborative research-creation effort has materialized through two interactive installations. The first took place at the Centro Cultural La Moneda in Santiago, between December 2023 and April 2024, while the second was presented at the 2025 Venice Biennale.
Each installation has provided an opportunity to explore new ways of raising awareness about the relationships between technology and terrestrial ecosystems, engaging local and international audiences in dialogue about the interdependencies that sustain artificial intelligence.
